Since we moved here from the townhouse, I’ve been so excited to have an outdoor space that we could hang out, make some food, and just enjoy the sunshine. Knowing that our back patio will be somewhere we spend quite a bit of time in the warmer months, we knew we wanted to make it comfortable and really feel like an outdoor living space. So, first step was buying some outdoor furniture. I knew I wanted a living set as opposed to a dining set, simply because we can always have a burger on the couch outside, but it’s hard to relax in the sunshine in a dining chair, and we didn’t have room for both.
It wasn’t a hard decision to make this furniture an investment because we knew we would use it a lot and for a long time, but because we knew we would be spending a pretty penny on this furniture, deciding what set to invest in was tough. We must have looked at 30 different furniture sets from so many different places. Target, Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, you name it. But, we ended up choosing a set from Amazon. I don’t think there is anything you can’t buy on Amazon at this point.
We chose this set (photo from Amazon).
It’s a huge set. We loved it because it’s completely modular so we can configure it any way that we need to, the cushions all have removable, machine washable covers, and it came with a cover and ottoman. They also have a great warranty and great customer service, so we felt comforted knowing that if there was ever a problem, we would be taken care of.
So, we hit order and two weeks later, a freight company dropped it off in our garage, just in time for Tomas to go out of town. Of course, the entire time Tomas was out of town and it sat in the garage, Colorado was perfectly sunny and in the 70s. Then, Tomas came home, put the furniture together, and it’s rained every single day since then. Are we in Seattle? Colorado is supposed to have 300 days of sunshine, and here we are on day 24 (I think?) of clouds. I’m thankful for the moisture, I am! But, c’mon, I want to sit on my new furniture!
Anyway, over the weekend, we had a little break in the rain, so I was able to snap a couple of pictures of the furniture. The whole outdoor space is definitely a work in progress and there’s still a ton left on the to-do list, but for now, if I could just get some sunshine, I’d be happy to sit and relax a little.
I’m so happy with it. It’s so comfortable and will definitely seat a ton of people, but still feels cozy at the same time. As far as this…
